My name is Jonatha
n Perry and I am a self taught graphite artist. I was born in Tampa FL, in 1985. I was raised in South Georgia for most of my life and where I currently live. From an early age I was instantly intrigued by art and its many forms. I’ve always had a passion for drawing, but I never took it very seriously. Drawing was always just something that I did in my free time when I was bored but it was always a hidden passion of mine. Drawing always felt natural to me somehow and I found myself improving greatly with each new piece. Over time, my passion grew for drawing as I learned new techniques of my own through trial and error and some through artist that would inspired me.
In my later years, I gave my art a rest and began to gravitate towards music instead which is another passion of mine. I taught myself how to play the guitar and how to record and write music when I was in my early teens. I graduated from Worth County High School in 2005 and shortly after formed a band which lasted for several years, but I decided to change my direction and wanted to look for a career in another place where I could focus my artistic abilities.
I decided to go back to school where I studied architectural drafting and design at ATU. I learned how to design homes and buildings and use technical drawing among other skills as well. Drafting has helped me in many areas of my life including drawing. Just recently, I’ve decided to pick up where I left off with my drawings. I’m continuously learning new techniques and discovering my own originality with each piece. I will strive to bring forth beautiful art for others through hard work and patience. I’m currently working on a new portfolio for the world to see and I don’t plan on slowing down any time soon!
